Nnamdi Asomugha a cornerback for the Oakland Raiders football team teaches the awareness drill exercise. “”Alt just teaches you about starting and stopping coz thatÕs, you know, a constant for defensive back on the football field, so that one was basically just run to the top cone, be aware of the cones at all times coz you donÕt want to hit them. And, you know, IÕll hit them from time to time and when you do that, you gotta start over. You know, you go to one cone and backpedal, you sprint to the next one, you backpedal, and you sprint all the way through, and you might do that twice each way, you know, so it ends up being four full speed of workout drills. You tend to just wanna backpedal and run but youÕre not aware of where you are. You have to be aware of where you are on the field. You know, it translates to the field at all times.”"

Russell sports a cannon arm and strong body, however he lacks experience with only 2 starts during the final 2 weeks of last season. In his first start at Jacksonville, he struggled going 7 and 23 for 83 yards, 1 late TD and 3 picks. Russell improved from that game with a better effort at home against San Diego going 23 and 31 for 224 yards, plus 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Notice that those two starts were against playoff teams who combined for 3 wins in the playoffs. AND the Chargers were trying to secure home field in the wildcard playoffs, so they had plenty to play for and came within 1 win of making it to the Super Bowl. Russells improvement in his second start against quality opposition provides plenty of hope for the Raider Nation. The running game will improve with first round draft pick running back Darren McFadden sharing carries with 1-thousand-yard rusher Justin Fargas. Zach Miller developed at tight end and…….
